Trauma & Abuse Recovery
Healing from trauma, abuse, and unresolved injury.
Trauma can affect the body, relationships, sexuality, faith, identity, emotional regulation, and the ability to trust yourself or others. Recovery work helps you understand what happened, what it changed, and how to move toward safety, integration, and choice.
Areas of focus
- Sexual abuse and sexual trauma
- Spiritual abuse, religious trauma, and church-related injury
- Emotional, relational, physical, and developmental trauma
- Complex trauma and attachment injury
- Shame, dissociation, emotional flooding, numbing, anger, and avoidance
- Trauma symptoms that interfere with intimacy, recovery, parenting, or identity
Trauma-informed treatment
Work may include stabilization, psychoeducation, attachment-informed therapy, EMDR-informed trauma processing, ego-state-informed work, emotional regulation, boundary development, and careful pacing based on readiness and safety.
Spiritual abuse and religious trauma
When harm occurs in a religious or spiritual context, healing can become complicated by fear, loyalty, shame, loss of community, or confusion about what was spiritual and what was abusive. This work makes room for honest grief, anger, clarity, and reconstruction of meaning without pressure to return to old frameworks.
